The display shows that my ZEN thermostat is ACTIVE, but my heating or cooling is not working. What should I do?

If your ZEN Thermostat indicates that it is ACTIVE but your heating or cooling system is not working, here are some things to check:

  1. Check that there is good contact between the wires and the ZEN terminals.
  2. Remove your ZEN Thermostat display from your wall and ensure that all wires are in the correct location.
  3. Pull gently on the wires to ensure that they are inserted correctly.
  4. If the wires are inserted correctly, check to make sure there is enough exposed wire: it should have between 5/16 - 3/8in (8-10mm) exposed core. If they do not, cut and re-strip the wires and re-insert them into the appropriate connector.

If the wiring appears to have good contact with the ZEN terminals, try resetting the ZEN thermostat by removing the display from the wall and pulling out one of the batteries for a few seconds and then replacing the unit on the wall.
